It’s been far from a normal year but we’ve continued working to our usual exacting standards throughout to complete numerous high profile projects and here are some of our stand-out projects to give you a flavour of our year. The projects below showcase key trends in office design which we expect to continue well into 2021 and beyond.
The reception area is typically the first port of call for any visitors so it needs to create that all important first impression, and the addition of bold corporate branding is an excellent way to achieve this.
Earlier this year we worked with Oktra on a London office refurbishment which used this technique to great effect. We created the bespoke focal joinery display in the vivid pink of the company’s corporate colours and as well as being a bright feature in the reception area, it also houses storage and inset lighting for maximum impact.
Stylish and secure storage
One of the key aspects of any office project is the inclusion of storage space, in a way which complements the rest of the design – so that might be completely concealed or on full display – it’s different for every project.
We’ve recently finished a project fitting out the new post room at Channel 4’s London office and storage clearly played an important part of the design here. The brief required a clean and contemporary space which would be practical, allowing staff to quickly locate exactly what they needed and our bespoke Qubewall storage system proved to be the perfect solution. We also installed several additional cabinets and Silestone worktops.
Set in concrete
While nothing has been set in stone this year, concrete remains a very popular material choice for our clients, particularly within the office sector. It’s durable and hardwearing but also looks great and can really set off an interior design.
We’ve installed two completely different but equally impressive cast concrete reception desks for two office fit outs this year – both coincidently on Bishopsgate in London.
We’ve continued to work throughout this year on joint projects with our partner company and washroom specialist, Washroom Washroom, including this stunning office refurbishment on Goswell Road which we’ve recently finished.
The central curved staircase, which we crafted to fit around the existing steel staircase structure, features bespoke oak cladding and oak handrail to create a focal point for the building. The stained dark oak trims not only look great, but add contrast at the edge of each step for extra safety. We also installed a bespoke island seating unit in the reception area along with an additional seating area outside the building, constructed from timber slats to match the rest of the redesigned office. The Washroom team installed new Corian vanity units in white, complete with wall-mounted taps and mirrors above in the new all-white washrooms.
We’ve also spent time this year fitting out our own offices here at our HQ too, but more on that in the new year! In the meantime, don’t forget that you can keep an eye on LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter for the latest projects, news and updates.
