Redefining workspaces with GTA Interior and Schroders
We’re proud to have recently completed a project delivering a range of bespoke joinery elements for GTA Interior to transform the Trafalgar Place campus in Brighton into vibrant, state-of-the-art workspaces – setting a new standard for office facilities.

Sustainable to its core
The high grade category A fit out project was delivered by GTA Interior for Schroders, a globally recognised leader in real estate investment and development. Schroders puts sustainability at the core of everything it does, and the development of Trafalgar Place, a campus of three outdated 1980s buildings, was no exception. The whole project was underpinned by a strong commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and GTA placed sustainability at the core of this project, focusing on creative material reuse, environmentally responsible sourcing and energy efficient technology.
The campus comprises three buildings, Napier House, Lanchester House, and Invicta House and all three have been awarded certification for FitWel, WELL, NABERS, ActiveScore, Air Rated, and WiredScore. Napier House is on track to achieve BREEAM Excellent, while the campus overall has already earned a BREEAM score of Very Good. We’re proud to have played our part in this innovative project.
Quality by design
Our joinery and washroom teams combined forces to deliver a range of bespoke joinery elements for both Lanchester House and Napier House, using high quality, sustainable materials in line with the project brief. By using materials and finishes within a similar colour palette, we were able to create a cohesive design across both buildings.
At both Lanchester House and Napier House, we manufactured and installed bespoke reception desks using solid surface Corian, specified in Deep Nocturne black contrasting with the natural oak. Our team also crafted the seating areas throughout both buildings using American white oak and finished with tan leather seats, a high bench in black Fenix NTM as well as bespoke oak tables complete with legs powder coated to RAL 9005 (jet black).
Throughout the reception area atrium, we installed high level Acupanel slat wood wall panelling in oak. Handcrafted using sustainably sourced wood veneer, Acupanel acoustic wood panelling ticks all the boxes: sustainability, acoustics and aesthetics.

Additionally, at Napier House we worked in partnership with our washroom division, Washroom Washroom, to manufacture and install high-level accessible mirrored units from the basement to the fifth floor in each superloo cubicle, as well as the new end of trip facilities. Here we supplied a selection of mirror and vanity shelving featuring integrated hairdryer holders and finished in Polyrey N117 Noyer Chesterfield dark wood effect laminate. We also manufactured bespoke vanity units for the end of trip facilities using the same wood effect laminate combined with highly durable, ultra hygienic and stain resistant Formica Axiom worktops in Paloma White Matte58 finish. The white countertop sinks, white tiled splashback and black taps add contrast to complete the contemporary design for the new end of trip facilities.

Setting a new standard
At the outset, the GTA team sought to understand the needs of Brighton’s office workers with extensive research to make sure that the new workspaces would fully serve the community’s needs and therefore enhance its appeal. It’s effectively shaped by the community it has been designed for.
Modern offices provide a full package of facilities, above and beyond the traditional working/meeting areas, including elements like flexible workspaces for different tasks or working styles, space to socialise, outdoor areas plus wellness facilities such as gyms and end of trip facilities. And the newly redesigned Trafalgar Square campus exemplifies this approach to offices as being more than just a workplace. It was also designed with flexibility in mind so it can continue to grow and evolve in the future as sustainably as possible.
We pride ourselves on immersing ourselves in a project like this, working closely with our client, architectural team and other members of the supply chain to deliver a flawless finish.
