All wrapped up – we look back on the last twelve months
As another year comes to a close, we’re looking back on the last twelve months and some of the truly unique interior fit-outs we’ve delivered for our clients. It’s impossible to capture everything so here’s a round-up of our personal highlights from 2025.
Beautifully bespoke one-off pieces
We pride ourselves on delivering bespoke joinery solutions and the fact that no two Cre8 projects are ever the same. Our teams are passionate about bringing bespoke designs to life for our clients.
The office fit-out we undertook for Armada Music on Bath Place in the heart of Shoreditch earlier this year is an excellent example of bespoke design. We manufactured a bespoke reception desk using fluted MASS Concrete made with Armada record chips and completed with stained oak worktops. It offers a truly contemporary design which reflects both the building and those who call it home.
This year also saw us join forces with Diespeker to create bespoke terrazzo worktops for the marketing suite at the Fifty Fenchurch Street site. The terrazzo’s eye-catching design was manufactured by Diespeker using waste materials including sand, crushed bricks and blocks salvaged from building work nearby in London before being combined with a blend of three colourways of resin. This highly unusual finish creates a contemporary design which also gives a nod to the history of the building.
Design support
Our talented teams have continued to support our clients at every stage from design to installation and this year we’ve developed our design support services even further.
Interior design is all about the conversation between different elements and how they contrast and complement each other so we work closely with our clients to collate and share samples of materials to review different options and finishes and create a tangible moodboard. As well as providing material samples and creating project moodboards, we’re also able to create mock-ups at our factory for clients to see how certain elements of a design will work as a finished piece.
Every material choice is intentional, each surface tells a story and the conversation between different materials is as important as their individual attributes. Our collaborative process helps bring design concepts to life showcasing texture, tone, and unique details to ensure every element works together seamlessly as well as meeting sustainability goals through material specification.
Sustainability progress
Sustainability targets are increasingly central to our projects. As well as taking steps to reduce the impact of our own operations at our manufacturing facility through the introduction of electric fork lift trucks for example, this year we’ve also introduced the new role of Sustainability Lead. Bradley Melville joined us as Sustainability Lead and coordinates our project-based carbon reporting which enables us to easily share data with our main contractor clients about the products and materials we use.
We also continue to work within the parameters of all major environmental accreditations where required including WELL, LEED, SKA and BREEAM – between them these standards provide the benchmark for non-domestic fit-outs. Being a Constructionline Gold member also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the environment, our social value ethos, the quality of our products and the diversity of our workforce.
Growing our talented team
Our staff are our greatest asset and this year we’ve invested in our team to support us as demand continues to grow. This year we’ve welcomed 12 new starters from project and admin support functions to logistics and production – all working together so we can fulfil our mission to deliver projects on time and on budget.
We’re also proud to support our teams with training and development and our three most recent joinery apprentices have learnt so much from our team with practical hands-on skills training. It’s all about sharing our knowledge and skills, built up over decades honing our craft.
Our project highlights: Grafton Street and Trafalgar Place
At Grafton Street in Mayfair we worked on an extensive refurbishment and extension project including a shared roof terrace, end of trip facilities installed by our washroom division, Washroom Washroom, and a full refurbishment of the reception area. The scheme achieved BREEAM Excellent and is also WELL-enabled, meaning it follows the principles outlined within the WELL Building Standard.
All materials were carefully considered as part of the overall design to ensure they perfectly complement each other. A key part of the scope of our work on this project was refurbishing the reception area which features a bespoke reception desk with a worktop which combines liquid metal coating together with hand stitched Connolly leather. Completing the reception area, we installed stainless steel ceiling and wall panelling from specialist Rimex with the Rimex Quartz Chocolate mirrored panels installed on the ceiling and Rimex bronze wall panelling in the lift lobby areas.
We delivered a range of bespoke joinery elements to transform the Trafalgar Place campus in Brighton with sustainability at the heart of the whole project as all three buildings have been awarded certification for FitWel, WELL, NABERS, ActiveScore, Air Rated, and WiredScore.
At both Lanchester House and Napier House we manufactured and installed bespoke reception desks using solid surface Corian, specified in Deep Nocturne black contrasting with the natural oak. Our team also crafted the seating areas throughout both buildings using American white oak and finished with tan leather seats, a high bench in black Fenix NTM as well as bespoke oak tables complete with legs powder coated to RAL 9005 (jet black). We also worked in partnership with our washroom division, Washroom Washroom on the new end of trip facilities.
