The 12-storey office building, located on Bishopsgate in the City of London, is home to a global software solutions company. Working with Modus over the course of 10 weeks our team delivered a series of bespoke joinery elements for the project including seating pods, tea and coffee points, washroom facilities and a new reception desk for the 25,000 square foot office space – all designed to create a unique space which puts the wellbeing of its users at heart, offering versatile working areas and space for staff to socialise.
We installed the stylish new reception desk which we manufactured using fumed oak to create a deep mahogany-like colour. The desk incorporates a section of triangular fumed oak vertical slats plus inset lighting underneath the worktop, highlighting the stunning finish of the desk front.
The new reception area also features a bespoke raft curved ceiling, which we manufactured using 50mm MDF and sprayed in four different RAL colours to tie in with the rest of the building’s new interior. The raft ceiling design, which was also used in several other commons areas features inset LED lighting and was installed using concealed Button Fix fixings which can be easily removed for future access to the ceiling, should it be required.
With versatile working a key part of today’s office environments, we worked with Modus to deliver different seating options for workspaces beyond the traditional open plan office including seating pods for small informal meetings plus quiet seating and touchdown benches for individual working.
The seating pods feature black Fenix® laminate fixed tables with bench seating positioned on each side and covered using Kvadrat fabric in dark blue. Privacy is provided by the European oak triangular feature cladding installed behind each seat to match the reception desk as well as keeping noise and distractions to a minimum for those using adjacent booths. While for the quiet seating pods and high-level touchdown benches, we used Duropal laminated tops mounted on bespoke metal frames with concealed fixings.
As part of the project, we also installed four tea and coffee points at various points throughout the office. Each one included storage cupboards with a mix of super matt grey and super matt white laminate doors plus Corian® solid surface worktops. We also delivered bespoke island units in the same super matt grey finish with a white Corian worktop, creating a contemporary bar-style space for staff to eat and socialise.
And working with our in-house specialist washroom division, Washroom Washroom, we delivered the new washrooms required as part of the fit-out. Here we created the new Silestone® vanity units which we installed on bespoke sub-frames.
